The activation of galanin receptor 2 plays an antinociceptive effect in nucleus accumbens of rats with neuropathic pain

چکیده

Abstract Our previous research has shown that galanin plays an antinociceptive effect via binding to receptors (GalRs) in nucleus accumbens (NAc). This study focused on the involvement of GalR2 galanin-induced NAc neuropathic pain rats. The chronic constriction injury sciatic nerve (CCI) was used mimic model. hind paw withdrawal latency (HWL) thermal stimulation and threshold (HWT) mechanical were measured as indicators threshold. results showed 14 28 days after CCI, expression up-regulated bilateral rats, intra-NAc injection antagonist M871 reversed increases HWL HWT CCI Furthermore, agonist M1145 induced at day which could also be by M871. Finally, we found M1145-induced rats stronger than intact These imply is activated from involved

Involvements of galanin and its receptors in antinociception in nucleus accumbens of rats with inflammatory pain

This study tested the hypothesis that antinociceptive effects of galanin and its receptors in nucleus accumbens (NAc) of rats with inflammatory pain provoked by subcutaneous injection of 0.1 ml of 2% carrageenin into the sole of the rat's left hindpaw. The hindpaw withdrawal latencies (HWLs) in response to thermal and mechanical stimulation significantly decreased in bilateral hindpaws at 3 and...

Activation of hippocampal MEK1 contributes to the cumulative antinociceptive effect of electroacupuncture in neuropathic pain rats

BACKGROUND Electroacupuncture (EA) intervention can relieve a variety of pain; however, optimal EA protocols have not been clearly determined. In addition, although central mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase (MEK) signaling has been shown to be involved in the antinociceptive effect of acupuncture stimulation, its characteristics at different time-points of EA intervention have not been fu...
